dcterms:description "Altitude profiles with descriptions of phytocoenoses at the interval of 100 m above sea level were made on the Kolsky peninsula, the Subpolar Ural, the Putorana mountains and the Verchoyansky mountain ridge. Vascular plants, mosses and lichens are divided into eight altitude‐coenotic groups (ACG). In ACG, the lowest of the profile, a boreal geoelement is predominant, in the highest ACG it is an arctic one. The ACG composition and altitude borders of species regularly change from the centre to the flanks of the continent and along the meridian. The meridional section of altitudinal borders approximates to a stretched parallelogramm. In the zones, isolated ecologically, species diverge into varieties, subspecies and new species. The latter are slightly isolated morphologically and distinctly isolated according to the altitude distribution. The areals of similar species in mountains coincide. The data on altitude distribution help to solve problems of systematics, history, practical usage and protection of plants."@de,
